Starless, Those were both released on systems that sold 102 million and 77 million units, giving them attach rates of 2.4% and 2.1% respectively. A similar rate on the PSP would come to around 500,000 to 650,000 units (depending on how many PSPs you expect to sell).
Some other aspects that make me question the price: -part of a series of games, but the other two parts are on the DS -do people really want a port of a ten year old tactical strategy game? -as mentioned by kspraydad, it launches in a FF heavy time for the PSP, with other (more traditional RPG) games released in April, June and August (this game is in May). -will this game even be released outside of Japan?
I don't see any reason to go long on this game. Even if the game received a well-promoted release outside of Japan, I can't see it getting near 1 million in sales.
I guess I am concerned that this is coming out in the same year as a FFVII offshoot for the PSP, Crisis Core. That plus FF 1 and 2 for PSP are literally going to 'flood' the market with FF, will this get 'lost' in the shuffle?
With a projected 1.2 million in sales we are predicting one of the best selling PSP games ever.
New details have emerged. FFT: The Lion War will have: New animated cutscenes, New Job Classes (Onion Knight), New Characters(Balthier of FF 12) and Wireless Multiplayer. Details can be viewed at the FFT Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy/Final_Fantasy_Tactics
