Yes this game does look class but very few shooter games are able to reach 1million on pc.the only games i were able to find were games that are ancient, like tomb raider or star wars dark forces.maby im wrong in saying that it wont hit a million but I dont think it will reach the current price of 156 dkp.
personally i think that ETQW will get 86 if not higher, as its avg rating at the moment from other game critics is about 84-85 and is a very addictive game as it is based on tactical warfare and it sounds like it has a lot of kick ass shooting to offer
The Good:
-Slick, mission-based gameplay makes for intense, focused pockets of action
-Constantly updated objectives make sure you are never at a loss of where to go and what to do
-Interesting classes are balanced well and are equally enjoyable to play
-Strong shooting model makes it fun to mow down the opposition.
The Bad:
-No voice chat functionality, even for fire teams
-Vehicle and aircraft key bindings aren't completely separate from infantry keys
"It can't quite match the polish, presentation and beautifully conceived design of Valve's latest, but Quake Wars sets out to provide a totally different experience, and does so very well - with a set of well-designed, expansive levels and great vehicles being the stand-out factors. It's turning out to be a great month for online FPS gamers; and Enemy Territory is definitely another fight worth finishing."
Having played the Beta I was a little worried some of the problems would remain but I should not of worried as they have done a good job and shown how a large public beta can make changes for the good.
The demo runs smoothly and some of the game mechanics have been smoothed out and the gameplay balanced. This should do well on the PC it certainly deserves to.
Will it sell the numbers projected? Maybe the thing with games of this type is they have a slow burn effect on sales. Whether it will be as popular as Battlefield 2142 for example which still has a nice tick rate of sales will be interesing but I think the games slightly more complex approach may put folks off.
So Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is done and off to manufacturing! Here at the Splash Damage World Headquarters we started working on the Demo right after the game went gold - we really wanted to get the Demo out there before release to give all of you the chance to see what ETQW is all about. The best part is that the Demo is wrapped up and ready to go; it's set to hit the internet this coming Monday - September 10, 2007 - just a few days from now!
