The second game add-on for Fallout 3, titled The Pitt, was scheduled to be put up for download today on Xbox Live. Shortly after making The Pitt available, it was realized (likely with the help of angry gamers) that there were issues with the file used for the download. It has since been pulled and The Pitt is unavailable on Xbox Live as of this writing.
Survivors of the Capital Wasteland will need to wait for Fallout 3's next two DLC packs a little longer. GameSpy reports that the follow-ups to Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel, will be delayed until March and April, respectively.
A Bethesda spokesperson confirmed to us the information is accurate. Guess this will give us more than enough time to finish the seemingly never-ending Nuka Cola Challenge.
VGC has Fallout 3 (Xbox 360) at just 1.98 million copies. I had expected a title of this anticipation and quality to be higher, but its also cross-platform. I think the game has the legs to make it to upper 2 millions. The stock price is probably about right.
The achievements are "Aiding the Outcasts," "The Guns of Anchorage," "Paving the Way" and "Operation Anchorage." Of course, we knew about "Operation Anchorage" already. Guess these are the three missions of the DLC pack that hits Tuesday for 800 Microsoft Points, and then the big 40 point achievement is given out if you finish the new quest entirely.
Fallout 3 lead producer Jeff Gardiner reveals that the Broken Steel downloadable content due out in March allow players to take their character all the way to level 30.
Along with the promised raise in the level cap to 30, Broken Steel also removes the ending for the game, allowing players to continue on in their adventure rather than having to deal with those pesky ending credits.
North America, Western Europe, Japan. Those are the three major gaming regions in the world. Fallout 3 being released there, no big deal. But Fallout 3 in the Balkans and Middle East?
It's a little more unique, especially when you consider many of the countries I'm about to name don't often get dedicated "official" releases. But official releases they're getting, because thanks to Connect Entertainment, the following 19 countries will get their own copies of Fallout 3:
"Bethesda announced plans to make both its editor and downloadable content available for Fallout® 3 in the coming weeks. The official editor for Fallout 3, called the G.E.C.K. will be available for free download in December and will allow PC users to create and add their own content. Also, the first official downloadable content, Operation: Anchorage, will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360® video game and PC in January, and more downloadable content coming in February and March."
After giving a few months for the dust to settle on the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 3, Bethesda announced today they'll be returning in January with the first of three new DLC packs for the game, which, as you likely know, will be coming to the 360 and PC with no PS3 plans.
