During a recent tour through Free Radical Studios led by lead writer Rob Yascombe, it was announced that the script for the nectar-enriched shooter is over 1,000 pages long. Yascombe explains that a lot of the script is composed of mid-battle NPC retorts -- some of which, he adds, will be delivered by none other than the Royal Shakespeare Company.
well, i'd say one part of it has to do with the same mentality under which rebates are offered. many people, if not most, end up forgetting about filling out the rebate or end up procrastinating too much and miss the date.
i would say another part of it is the fact that the "return" gets you store credit rather than actual money. What does that equate to? a used Haze they can use to sell as a used game for $55 and another guaranteed purchase from the store credit given out.
but ultimately, i don't know what the evil minds at gamestop are REALLY thinking. for all i know, they plan on reselling those "returned" copies as brand new. it's not like they don't sell other "new" games as already opened with the stupid NEW sticker stuck on them anyway.
I'm not quite sure how this business model makes sense. Does Haze have a multiplayer component? If its mostly single player, a lot of people may potentially be making returns.
Canadian EB Games stores are partaking in one of the most intriguing trade-in offers we've ever seen. If you pre-order Haze and return it within a week, you'll get all your money back (in the form of store credit, of course).
@starship,I SWEAR FRD has NO control over this game...once again they announce the game is coming out at X time and one week later Ubisoft directly contradicts it and moves it back to May.
