@Mushashi, The pricing is pretty outrageous compared to the U.S. pricing, though software and hardware tends to cost more in Europe, but not this much of a mark-up.
Definitely will stunt sales of Rock Band - not a good thing for the building of the franchise in Europe.
This announced pricing means this game costs more than the console to play it, I have doubts this game will sell well in Europe. Guitar Hero is much cheaper than this but has not sold large numbers like it does in US yet.
Europe, unlike the US, will not get all of the instruments bundled together with the game.
Instead, you will have to fork out for an Instrument Edition at GBP 129.99 / EUR 169 - comprised of the drum kit, guitar and microphone - then buy the game separately for GBP 49.99 / EUR 69.99.
Anyone after the whole lot will be looking at a total of GBP 180 / EUR 240, then.
Electronic Arts will be releasing the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band in Europe on 23rd May.
It will be a timed exclusive for Microsoft, with PS3, PS2 and Wii offerings to appear "later this summer".
We will get the full compliment of existing downloadable tracks on 27th May, too. This adds up to a meaty 70 songs, which you can get a load of over on the official site.
Going forwards, both European and American versions will be given fresh tracks at the same time each week.
Any #s on Rock Band? VGC has 360 ver at 1.15 million. EA said for all 3 versions (360, PS3, PS2) combined it sold 1.5 million on Jan 31st. Combining most recent VGC for all 3 versions = 1.87. This may be overvalued.
