vgchartz gets it data from a small pool of stores then extrapolates. If those stores had nearly no one buying Geometry Wars, then vgchartz is going to show Geometry Wars is not selling. I have seen a good number of people buy Geometry Wars for both the DS and the Wii at one of the Gamestop where I live, so I doubt that the game was a total flop as vgchartz is saying. We will have to see when it launches in Europe, but I am pretty sure this game will end up selling 20DKP+.
i reckon vgc has messed up the numbers, do you really think only 5000 people in America brought this in its first week given that it is one of the highest scored wii games on metacritic, though i do realise good games can be flops, phsyconauts for example, this game is too big to flop that badly. at total 25k thats a purchase rate of one out of every 340 wii owners. that doesnt add up to me but if u wna crash the price then go ahead.
@vGInfidel,How? VGC are not totally reliable but if there putting it for 2dkp in 5weeks well thats a definate short. Europe wont be much better. If it gets good hype then it might sell well but i have not seen it anyware. The DS version isnt selling much better at 3dkp and its a bigger install base. Its looks like a clear short. So im going to say 12dkp for now.
i agree, im fairly sure VGC is unreliable on this one, ok the price point may be a bit high but the geometry wars brand would have gained alot of fans from its release on xbla and its received solid reviews, in the 80's on metacritic i believe. personally i think there is no way that this game would have only sold 25k over the past 5 weeks even given the competition. i think this is seriously undervalued at 21dkp and should be around 35-40.
It will at least reach the current pricepoint, vgchartz is most likely underestimating sales for this game and it has yet to be released outside of America.
