this game was completely off my radar until today (part of it was due to my confusion between Frontlines: Fuel of War and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty ie they're both FPSs in the huge sea of FPSs on 360).
knowing that this game is from some of the people involved in Battlefield really piqued my interest. kind of excited now!
They noted the games huge maps and fun. In particular this game has 32 player limit for play on Live making it one of the biggest online games on the Xbox.
I think this game looks sweet! I hope the multiplayer is super good and i wish they didn't say they hated XBox Live so much...i pay for that every year!! :(
The way things are shaping up, Frontlines: Fuel of War has a chance to stake a significant claim on the multiplayer shooter world. While games like Halo 3 cover the sci-fi realm and Call of Duty 4 plays out its small infantry skirmishes, there is a wide-open door for a game like this that offers enormous online battles using tanks, airplanes and whatever else you find on the battlefield.
GS AU: Will you be offering cross-console multiplayer support?
FD: No, we looked into it pretty heavily [...] the only way to do it for Xbox was the Live system, and while Live is fairly interesting, it has a lot of problems, one of which is that it takes a lot of things you can get for free and makes you pay for it. So we felt that it wasn't ready yet for our public. It takes away matchmaking, and you have to pay to host games...
As any true Xbox 360 gamer knows, the system has its fair share of stellar war games to play. There's the Game of the Year contender, Call of Duty 4, there's Halo 3, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, and the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company. So just where and how does Frontlines plan to fit in to the bunch and, more importantly, what does it bring to the table that the others only dream of? We recently spent a considerable amount of time playing through the first four single-player missions..

Now if the live service offered dedicated servers and keyboard and mouse options it would be an easy call.
