@Twitch, it's definitely curious though, why do people think this will barely outdo the PS1 port of FFT in the first month? The date? GoW? FF sales are usually pretty front-loaded, so I'm curious as to why this went down so much.
UK gamers will be able to purchase a special edition of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core which will include the game, 48 page art book, and a box to house both things.
Though American fans are due to receive the PSP game later this month, folks in the UK have to wait a bit longer. The wait may not be without reward, however, as a "Special Pre-Order Edition" of Crisis Core: FF7 (complete with obligatory art book and slipcase) has been spotted on certain retailer websites. Eurogamer notes that an announcement is "imminent," and suggests that offers for the rest of Europe may differ.
It is interesting that the March NPD Future has plummeted but there has been on change in the GLS stock. This would indicate that people think the loss of US sales will be made up elsewhere--or people forgot to short the GLS, too. I am thinking the latter.
While the version of Crisis Core playable at GDC wasn't really an ideal trade show demo, featuring far too much dialogue and not enough gameplay, we're happy the game seems to be coming together for its March release in the U.S. We'll be digging further into Square's biggest PSP game to date in the coming weeks, so as they say in the game's homeland, please look forward to it.
"In the coming weeks, we'll be taking an in-depth look at characters that will inhabit the highly anticipated SE title: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. With each feature, we'll break down the various characters you'll play as and come across, as well as deliver brand new media & character images that will hopefully whet your appetite for the legendary series.
This week, let's spend some time with the game's main characters: Zack Fair, Angeal Hewley, Genesis and Sephiroth."

What is the # of PS1 port of FFT first month ?
I believe the major cause is the fact that PSP games sales # are abysmal. Remember Feb 08 WipEout Pulse, with it 10K sales # ?
