There was a time that console owners looked forward to home ports of Ridge Racer arcade games. Now, the reverse is true. Bandai Namco is taking a home-based Ridge Racer game and turning it into an arcade attraction.
Ridge Racer 7 is being reborn as Ridge Racer 7 3D Version. The arcade attraction makes use of a special television that uses filters to make the images come out at players. You have to wear special glasses to see the effect, although different from classic 3D glasses, these look like standard single-colored shades. For bystanders, the game screen looks blurry, like two slightly displaced images overlain.
I agree with Master Trader, this stock is still way way overpriced, I can't believe people are still holding on to this, especially with so many new stocks coming up they could be putting their money into.
This stock is the biggest pig ever. Ridge Racer 7 has only sold 98,500 copies through February in North America according to VG Charts. It only added 11,750 copies. This is still a STRONG SELL.
Haha. January sales for Ridge Racer were only 27,500 copies in North America. Only 86,750 copies sold! The game is just trickling in Japan--only 131,750 sold. The stock needs to go down to 35-40 DKP.
I guess this stock could be being bought by people who shorted it earlier. I can't imagine wanting to own the stock at this price right now though. I think it is still significantly overvalued.
Heh, whoever is buying this stock up needs to start reading the discussion board.
I wonder what is the correlation between people who read the discussion board and their net worth vs people who don't read the discussion board and their net worth.
VGcharts has Ridge Racer 7 selling 44,000 copies in December. This is well more than 2x November sales but most likely because of the total lack of PS3s in November.
Looks like sales on Ridge Racer 7 have fallen off the charts. In Japan only 3500 copies of this were sold last week. Japan is supposed to be Ridge Racer's strongest market and the launch of a RR title with each Sony console launch has become tradition.
VGcharts has also dropped North American coverage of this title in the critical December month, but I believe we can set the upper bound at 100,000 which is what Need For Speed: Carbon sold. Only 2 other titles, Resistance: Fall of Man and Madden 07 have sold more than 100k on the PS3 for that month and clearly RR7 is not as popular as those titles.
In short I belive Ridge Racer 7 is still severely overvalued even at these levels and I continue to be short shares of this stock.
