December North American sales data is now available at VGcharts. Kirby sales came in at 240,500 for December. Combined with the current Japanese sales 855,000, and you have a total 1,095,500 already sold. I'd say this stock has plenty of upside.
Yes sales numbers for this put it at 800k in Japan alone now. This should easily pass the million mark sometime soon. Especially once US sales data is available.
Looks like Monk is right, this looks like one of the few undervalued gems out there. Sales just closed out the 8th week very strong with 159,750 copies sold, for a total of 737,000 copies sold in Japan.
I would upgrade this stock's status to "strong buy". The current projected sales are a meager 885k. It has already sold 577k in Japan alone.
Moreover, the game seems to have fairly long legs. Despite being it's 7th week on the chart, it sold another 100k last week.
Kirby seems to be well on pace to sell 885k in Japan alone, and will undoubtedly add to that with Europe and America's sales. I think projected lifetime sales of 2-3 million is quite reasonable. The bull case is very strong on this one.
KultofCows: Thanks! By the way, this game is seriously fun. :)
Now, about this Kirby game.. it's sold 352,082 copies in Japan alone as of November 26th, 2006, after being out for only 4 weeks.
It's a popular franchise, and even though this is one of the more 'traditional' kirby-style games, I think there's a good possibility it's undervalued, especially considering the large number of DS users. I'd say it will do easily over 1 million, possibly quite a bit more.
Eek, I boffed up here myself. I added one you already had up there, and then I gave the wrong link for the larger 'fall kirby!'. Too bad you can't edit submissions!

Oh well, still upside to be had I think.
