From reading the discussions and taking a look at jsmrekar's profile, I think today's selling was just him/her finally closing out a million DKP position in Forza 2.
Ideally you should sell or buy in small quanitities over time so you don't make such a market impact. You are more likely to get a better average price by buying 500 share blocks over a few days instead of buying 5000 shares at once. The same is true for selling.
Well.. the price is way down today, so you guys just sell all day long and I'll buy it up. This game will be an absolute hit with no other options for simulation racers on any other new-gen platform. GT is a huge hit for Sony, this should be the same for MS.
Ah so it sounds like you were a victim of market manipulation. Wanted to buy the stock for legit reasons but got inflated prices. Looks like there's plenty of shares for you to buy at 83.94 now. I just don't know from the past performance if the sequel can carry even 800k copies in North America and Europe (since Japan is not buying an Xbox 360 exclusive).
As soon as I saw it last night that I could bid on it I did. That is when it jumped from about 80 to 102. From what I could tell there wasn't much stock available at the time and some one out there was buying it last night or so. Because I bought some at 80dkp (there was only a hundred shares at that price) then wait for the refresh and it jumped to 90, so I bought again, and so on till I was out of money at the price of roughly 102 dkp.
As for another reason we will have the game at home is that she can make her car look more...girly I guess you could say. She wants to know why everything has to be so "guyish" and that whoever can corner the market for women is going to really make a killing out there. But other than that I like the personalization that you can do here on this game.
Isimanica, well that's an honest reason that I can buy into. Did you miss the IPO on Monday?
Other than people missing the IPO, I really can't see any honnest reason why the stock would go up the day after when there is no news or discussion. Unless we get into a situation where the IPOs need to last longer than a day...
I am sorry trader but I bought this because I have played the first one, I have seen the second on in action. And frankly the GT series always ticked me off. I dislike it's game play, my wife disliked it, she prefered playing forza much more than when ever she tried playing the GT's. That is why I liked the first one and that is why I put money into the stock yesterday.
Hmm, in the world of racing games, I never thought Forza would be one to attract the buying volume (and trading volume) I saw yesterday. I'm another one on the simExchange that has never even heard of the original.
I think it was also suspicious that the stock attracted that much buying the day right after the IPO (when everyone could buy it for 80 DKP) following no news or even any discussion as to why someone would be buying. As far as I've seen so far, buying and selling only picks up after somebody has made some good points in the discussions. Can someone who was legit buying this explain the reason for getting this over Gran Turismo 5 which appears to be languishing to some degree on the simExchange?
Also seems convenient that jsmrekar bought a million DKP worth of this game (and if you look at his profile, it's the only stock in his portfolio!)
You're lucky. I bought quite a few shares in this badboy, cause I read up on it and got the impressiojn that it was winner. I was blown away by the 300 cars statistic.
I thought the buying was legit...should have sold off when I had the chance.
