i never said anything about battalion wars 2, i said that it had underestimated geometry wars because i felt that the numbers were far too low to be correct. as november showed the majority of 360's being sold were with this bundle and if that continued in to january as one must assume then with the predicted 1.5million 360's sold most of them must have been bundles and therefore large sales for forza. i realise it seemed a bit contradictory but i hope thats cleared it up.
As far as I can see both Pro and Elite units have a holiday bundle, so only the Arcade version doesn't have the games included. So why do you say it is only 1 SKU?
No they have hard data for that. The problem is the same with their normal number, the sample size and the potential bias against NPD data, but they know how money bundles are sold. If they wouldn't they wouldn't count those sales (as practiced that way before).
I say that VGC is just guessing and you respond by quoting VGC? That does nothing to address my concern. VGC is guessing about the percentage of sales that are Pro bundles and they're also guessing about how many of those are the newer bundles and not older ones.
You seriously think that Microsoft is producing 4 million holiday bundles in that single SKU?!? They have THREE SKUs and they've only sold about 14 million consoles of ALL SKUs so far...so no, there's no chance they have 4 million of the holiday Pro SKUs.
VGC is just counting a percentage of 360 hardware sales as Forza sales. I think this is highly suspect however, as not all Pro SKUs would have Forza (older stock for instance), but I doubt we'll ever get a press release fro the publisher to clarify sales.
@ixaarii, remember Forza 2 sales are picking up because it is bundled with the Xbox 360 Pro SKU now. Sales are not picking up because of specific interest in the game. These sales will only go on as long as the game remains bundled.
