No More Heroes Hands-on

IGN - December 3, 2007

"Our week-long dive into No More Heroes begins officially today with a trip into the mind of a killer. Those gamers out there that owned a GameCube and knew the sadistic and skewed joy of pulverizing monstrosities into tiny particles of blood in Killer 7 already know what to expect - at least you may think you do - but now having put in well over five hours of the game each the IGN Nintendo team is ready to share what Suda 51's next chapter is all about."

Preview at GDC: "The basic slash is on the A button on the Wii Remote, and you can do a finishing slash by actually doing a slash motion with the Wii Remote, and there goes the enemy's head," he says. "By holding down the B button and combining that with a motion, you can do a number of cool wrestling moves."

Hands on at TGS

"Travis' exchange with him leading up to the fight was goofy and also pretty funny. Once Destroyman changed into his costume, the fight and the lunacy began. To the best of our knowledge, this was likely the first boss fight we've ever had that featured an enemy who shot lasers from his crotch, which walks that fine line between awesome and disturbing." "Control in the game is a highlight of the experience, thanks to a very smart use of the Wii controller as well as a combo system tailor-made to show it off. "

Rising Star Games will publish Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture's No More Heroes in Europe in February 2008. "It's a massive engaging and immersive gaming experience for the Wii. This is exactly the right product to broaden the format's appeal to a wider, more serious gaming audience," commented Martin Defries, MD of Rising Star.
