Several retailers have dropped the price of the PSPgo to under £200 after just one weekend on sale. Argos still asks for £219.99, however, and ShopTo charges full price, £224.99. PSP Reaches 10 Million in Sales in Japan

1UP News - August 28, 2008

Submitted by adesolatenation (2022) at 5:46PM PST on August 28, 2008

The PlayStation Portable has sold over 10 million units in Japan alone, reports Kotaku. Looking over the list of top-selling games, it's not hard to see what's been driving the charge. RPGs dominate the list at all five spots, and the Monster Hunter series occupies three of them. Altogether, the sales of Monster Hunter games reach nearly 5 million units, half the number of systems sold in the country. Sony of Japan needs to send Capcom a nice gift basket for giving them this many sales.

John Koller: "We've talked about the PSP being a 10 year product, but a 10 year product in the continued... how can I put this... in the continued lifecycle, so we obviously had the 1000, we have the 2000, so the PSP as it was first launched in March 2005 isn't going to the be the PSP that it ends up as in 10 years"
