IGN’s GamerMetrics analyst Scott Mucci has released data for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, showing that the title holds a "commanding" 17.08 mindshare on IGN.com among all titles releasing in March 2008.
Citing the Wii's success and the fact that SSBB is a "quality all-ages oriented title," Mucci expects the game could sell in excess of 1.5 million units by mid April, so long as retail supply holds steady, and will continue to lead game sales well into the month.

I remember GameMetrics reporting that Halo 3, Madden, and GTA IV would be the top selling games last year (this is of course before GTA was delayed), but they did not mention anything about Call of Duty 4 or Wii Play (who were the third and second best selling games last year after Halo 3 being the top). I would say that GameMetrics is correct on their saying that the title could sell over 1.5 millin by mid-April and I expect that the part they will be correct is "over." Our current number for March is possible as many stores are reporting that they are sold out and a signifcant majority got 50+ copies.
