Apparently the game is designed in such a way that each story mode can be played multiple times, with new unlockables and options available to the player each play through. This means that the game could effectively last a player their "entire lifetime".
Every single character will have a unique story. Yes, that means there are effectively 20 different re-inactions of the story and if you want to understand the entire plot, you'll have to play them all.
