Only two months since the release of the DS incarnation of the Pokemon series in NA, over 10 million Pokemon have been exchanged via the games' online trading system GTS as reported in this article, citing Famitsu. A significant percentage of these trades were attributed to the Japanese' preference for English-named Pokemon. As the article humorly states, one can only imagine the aftermath of the games' release in Europe and Australia.
