@justcrim, I wasn't trying to be biased I had forgotten the exact specifications of Bluray & HDDVD capacity. While I said 2x, I was pretty close as HDDVD can hold 60% of what Bluray can. I think there may be a need in the future for dual layer Bluray discs for movies if they put a lot of extra content 7 hi-def audio and multiple languages, but even moreso for television series.
There are a few games already coming that will require atleast 2 dual layered DVDs, just 1 year ago I can't think of any game that required more than 1 dl DVD. What are we going to see in another year, or even just 3 years from now... If triple or quad layered discs come out then HDDVD may gain the advantage, but they will have to be able to maintain a large price difference with Bluray and I doubt that will occur if it takes a while before 3x/4x layered discs become a reality. And remember that if media requires over 30 gb, Bluray can stay with dual layered discs only while HDDVD will have to bump theirs up to triple layered, saving Bluray a lot of money.
