I said "sell at a loss" because I believe any 4th console by Sony would be initially sold at a loss (only Nintendo seems to go against that).
If a console isn't profitable in the first 2 years, it will likely never be profitable. For example, while the XB always lost money, MS finally turned a quarterly profit within the 2nd year of the 360.
Also, if Sony is faced with a money-losing console for the next year, they'll have to do something. The PS3 was developed on the profits of the PS2...so where will the money for the PS4 come from?
