@vGInfidel, Yes, they do, but MS does moreso than Sony or Nintendo, although Nintendo is becoming more like MS.
Yes Sony also has more than 1 SKU, but they don't differ dramatically, like MS does with the 360 SKUs.
With the 360 you have to pay $100 extra for wifi, $20-$30 for a rechargeable battery setup, ridiculous harddrive prices, high-def video via disc requires additional add on purchase or buying a new 360, pay for online that does not have dedicated servers, etc.
So say you only have wireless internet, you'd have to pay $380 for an Arcade, $450 for a Pro, $550 for an Elite. Add a rechargeable battery setup, and those become $400-410, $470-480, $570-580.
Here's a scenario: $350 Pro + wifi = $450 + battery $20-30 = $470-480 + 1 year of Live $50 = $520-530
Had you bought the HDDVD $180 = $700-710 Probably will end up buying another 3-4 years of Live so $150-$200 = $850-$910
This does not include any games or repair, warranty, or service plan costs that are basically a necessity until only recently perhaps. Some even have to buy a brand new 360. And we haven't even talked about someone who might get the supposed Bluray 360.
How would PS3 compare? $400-$500 (using current prices just as I did with 360). Add a better cable (HDMI or component) $5-$50 =$410-$550. Much less $ and much less areas where you will be milked.
