We have no confirmation or sourcing of our own on this, so, we don't vouch for its accuracy. But we will be watching the clock at 10 am Crecente time tomorrow, as CrunchGear is rumormongering that Microsoft will announce Blu-Ray Xboxes will be shipping by Christmas, at that time. Rumor has it they'll cost less than an Elite

If you want an, albeit simple, example of innovation from Sony; How about the ability to install Ubuntu on it or the ability to upgrade the hard drive in it. Hardly a stroke of genius but a much welcomed addition nonetheless.
A HD format was inevitable and here's the value you get in the PS3:
HD video player
Decent HD
Gaming box
Optional Linux powered general purpose computer
Wireless and wired LAN ports
Free online play
That's why you'd be crazy to get a 360 add on Blu Ray drive! Unless they priced it at like... £50 which is unlikely
I got a 40 GB PS3 with Ninja Gaiden and Drakes for £300. How was that not value for money? I can upgrade the HD without paying inflated prices for it, install a distro I choose and there's no add on crap.
Live on the previous Xbox was a terrible experience for me and much preferred networks like Kai and XBC for online play. Think it was a more mature audience / user base.
