@apujanata, I think Live activity can be used as a very rough gauge for sales.
However, this only applies to games with large multiplayer components. The only time that Live activity should be used to predict sales numbers is when the title has a large online component and if the standing in the ranking for Live shifts dramatically (e.g. from top 5 to below top 10).
I think part of the reason for the shift in GTA IV's Live activity may have to do with the fact that the game has a very large single player component compared to the other titles surrounding it in the top 5. In addition, the sales sales thus far on the 360 are probably still behind the other popular titles (CoD4 and Halo 3).
