No the cause of the RRoD was largely that MS used cheap motherboards and over time the soldering on them would basically melt and break. Not particularly because it was too hot. The new models with the 65nm chip are cooler anyway and i believe the issue with the faulty motherboards has been largely fixed. As long as companies use the newer model design then hardware faults should return to normal levels of about 1-5%.
