It’s tempting fate to end by saying that Fable II looks like it might be the game Lionhead has always threatened. “We finished Fable with so many ideas for stuff we could go on to do, and now we feel we’ve realised a lot of that – it’s all come together,” concludes Copley. “We’ve really worked on our story, and I think that’s the major step forward and why we’re all so much happier with Fable II.”
Peter Molyneux has been at the helm for some of the biggest (and arguably most important) videogames ever made and he's hoping that Fable 2 will join them.
We caught up with the legendary games developer at London's Fable II press event to find Molyneux in a surprisingly candid mood, as we spoke about all things Fable...
Peter once again answers your questions. He estimates Fable II could have up to 100 hours of gameplay, he likes the idea of PvP (perhaps as DLC?), and he hasn't ruled out creating another Black & White. Much more within...
Fable 2 is days, if not hours from going gold, Lionhead Studio's Sam Van Tilburgh told me today.
"We have one or two bugs that are keeping us from going gold," Van Tilburgh said.
Even though the game, due out Oct. 21, is on the verge of wrapping up, the dev team is still keeping late night hours, he said.
"Everyone is playing the game, staying 12 hours," he said.
Fable 2's pub games was the first cross-over Xbox Live title that let you earn something for a retail game by playing. Sure it was glitched, but they're fixing it, and it's a very neat idea.
Speaking with Lionhead Studio's Sam Van Tilburgh earlier today I discovered that Pub Games won't be the only way you can earn cash for Fable 2.
Lionhead's head lion Peter Molyneux recently said in an interview with GameTrailers that it took three years to make Fable 2. We note this because in the same interview, he also talks about doing three more Fable games. "We've got plans for Fable 3, 4 and 5 actually," he said. "It's a big story arc and if you play Fable II you'll recognize things from Fable 1." Extrapolating on Fable 2's development time, expect to see the series continue in 2011, 2014 and 2017, respectively.
