Fallout 3: Eurogamer 10/10

Eurogamer - October 27, 2008

Fallout 3 is such an embarrassment of riches, it's hard to know where to begin. The news is definitely good though, because whichever way you stack it up it qualifies as a landmark game. Like BioShock and Oblivion, unpicking its merits is something of a Gordian knot. But that is, of course, precisely its charm.

Judging from the gameplay footage we saw at Bethesda, Fallout 3 is looking rather spectacular.

Fallout 3: The Pitt Stumbles

IGN.com - March 24, 2009

Submitted by iamnerp (496) at 11:46AM PST on March 24, 2009

The second game add-on for Fallout 3, titled The Pitt, was scheduled to be put up for download today on Xbox Live. Shortly after making The Pitt available, it was realized (likely with the help of angry gamers) that there were issues with the file used for the download. It has since been pulled and The Pitt is unavailable on Xbox Live as of this writing.

PAX 2008: One hour with full version of Fallout 3

Joystiq - September 4, 2008

We were given one hour with Fallout 3 at this year's PAX, and we don't mean some pared down, nerfed, demo-ized level; this was the full version. Not only that, but the Bethesda folks showed it to us in the tricked out Fallout 3 Airstream Trailer, complete with a nuclear family peering in.

Fallout 3 Off-Screen Images

Apparently, the Asian press laughs in the face of non-disclosure agreements! Gaming Web site Underone has posted over 100 off-screen images of Fallout 3, snapped during a recent ZeniMax Media press tour. We win -- even these relatively low-quality snaps show off what's looking like an unbelievable game. The link takes a bit to load.

Interview with the makers

For anyone recently emerging from under a rock, Oblivion developer Bethesda's next foray into the videogame scene is Fallout 3, the post-apocalyptic RPG sequel long looked for by the Fallout hardcore. Bethesda is bringing the game to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and is currently aiming to have it out in autumn 2008...

What'd We Think of the Fallout 3 Teaser?

1up.com - June 5, 2007

Good God, this looks good. Voice what you will about Bethesda not having the knack for ink-black humor it needs to hammer out a true-to-the-series sequel, but think it through first. In my mind, Oblivion more than proved the developer's ability there, what with Cyrodiil's neurotic citizens. Remember Mr. They're-watching-me-and-I-know-it? Or the pair of schemers who wanted the same loot, and who wise adventurers played one against the other? I want to think that Bethesda has what it takes, only the developer's humor isn't bopping you in the face. And again, how often has that happened in gameland? Maybe it's because I read comic books, but changed up creative teams aren't always alarming. In fact, if Bethesda decides to take a radically different direction with Fallout 3, I'd rather that than a dull remake.

Post-apocalyptic 'Fallout 3': It's da bomb

AssociatedPress - October 28, 2008

"Bethesda's previous release, "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," was my runner-up for game of the year in 2006. I doubt "Fallout 3" will have to settle for second place in 2008; I can't imagine a more satisfying adventure coming out this year. Four stars out of four."

Fallout 3 DLC Will Be Quests, Not Dog Armour

Kotaku - September 2, 2008

Submitted by necron101 (15) at 8:50PM PST on September 2, 2008

A few years back, Bethesda released a sprawling, open-world RPG on the 360. Then, when it came time to release some DLC for it, they dropped the ball. Released some horse armour, whole thing didn't go down too well. So it's just lovely to see that, when it comes to Fallout 3's DLC, Bethesda will be releasing content that's more in line with their later Oblivion stuff - like Knights of the Nine - than the earlier stuff.
