Nintendo Co. (7974) has sold 1 million copies of its Wii Fit exercise software as of Jan. 6, a little more than a month since the title's Dec. 1 release.

In that case, I will just refrain from bashing VGC in the future. I'm sorry if you feel that I am bashing VGC, where I am just pointing some site that have "pure" famitsu #, not contaminated by shipment # and combined with M-create, which can be confusing. BTW, the site I mentioned are not managed or updated by me, so no conflict of interest there.
It was an old debate between ioi and me (and my friends), so I don't want to repeat it here. As summary, Japanese figure, VGC should be ok (except in certain cases), but for US and Europe figure, I try to avoid relying on VGC.[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 14935 ]bids

I believe it is probably sold to customer, since that is the standard for Japan sales #, unless you get the data from the publisher itself, in which case the # is sold /shipped to retailer.
I think Nikkei refer to either M-create or Famitsu (a.k.a. Dengeki). I think it is Famitsu, since Famitsu have higher Wii-Fit # compared to M-create.
You are right. Famitsu have the first week # at 254K.
You can go here to find "real" (as in not increased like VGChartz) Japan data, all based on Famitsu.
Most Nintendo game have good legs. Personally, I believe Japan should do 3 million, at least. With maybe 3 Million from US, and maybe 3 Million from Europe (assuming Nicole Kidman promote this game), and it should hit the current #.
