The charge for admission into the Wii Fit club will be $90. We've confirmed with various local GameStops that the game is listed in its system for $90. Pre-orders are being offered for $10 instead of the regular $5.

Michael Pachter reveals that he's "learned that Nintendo of America intends to support the Wii Fit launch with the biggest marketing campaign in its history." It suggests to me that the marketing will be broad-based and mainstream, meaning beyond the normal online and game magazine ads. My guess is we will see advertising on TV during American Idol, Oprah, etc. as opposed to ads on MTV during Punk'd.

Apart from its entertaining balance games (comprising just a quarter of the package), which are accurately responsive and limited-but-fun, rating Wii Fit would be like rating the act of physical exercise itself. But as non-games go, this one is well constructed – and the Balance Board is a solid piece of kit. More important, though, it’s a motivational system for the good of your body. Just don’t forget to close the blinds.

Obesity experts today slammed Nintendo after its Wii Fit game told a 10-year-old girl she was fat. They fear the game could damage children's body image and called on the company to warn parents it is not suitable for their offspring. Nintendo said today it would not be placing a warning on the game.

Gamer has provided shots from the Yodobashi Kichijoji at about 9:30am yesterday when Wii Fit officially went on sale in Japan. In front of him and behind him there were massive queues for the product which indicates Nintendo has another winner on their hands.

A record-breaking $40 million marketing budget can help Nintendo sell four million copies of Wii Fit in the US during 2008, according to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter. "Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively," Pachter told the New York Post.
