Its amazing how Sony screwed up this one. I remember when they were saying this was going to be a killer app...then 57,800 copies for first month sales? The stock is a strong sell.
Sony's PlayStation 3 title Lair has entered the Japanese software chart at number 7, selling 22,000 units in its first week of release, according to the latest data from Media Create.
Project Gotham Racing 4 entered the chart at number 25, and was the only Xbox 360 title to feature in the top 30, following Halo 3's earlier positive showing. Follow the link to see the top 10.
That said of course the Famitsu games mag in Japan has given Lair a very respectable review in stark contrast to the previous results so it is possible that we could see reasonable sales in Japan.
Did everyone forget about the lifetime stock for this game? While the future plummeted, this stock has stayed WAY too high. I would say this is an excellent shorting opportunity because this stock will take a beating once the September NPD numbers are released.
Seeing as the rating flopped because they made it sixaxis only I think it's safe to assume this time will struggle to even get 300k let and there's no way in bloody hell it sell over 60k in Sept.
Trying to fly a dragon using the sixaxis is like trying to wrestle a teflon bull that's been basted in cooking grease. Which begs the question: with no old-fashioned control scheme to revert to, did Sony force Factor 5 to make it Sixaxis-only?
This review sounds largely positive and I think the early reviewers missed something or were in to much of a rush to enjoy the game or grasp the controls properly, from the review "Flight controls are flawless, once you get used to the scheme however, targeting enemies and objectives become overwhelming very quickly."
Also, could you put the review score in the title or summary.
2
1. Lair will like be thrown in as a pack in at some future date
2. Japan just came on line with sales of 22,000 in week one
3. This game is not released in EU yet and rumour has it that control issues will be fixed by then
