Kotaku has video of them being able to play Lair on the PSP 2K model. It looks awesome, like having a PS3 in your pocket, sort of. Check it out: http://kotaku.com/gaming/clips/lair-playing-on-my-psp2k-295887.php
@Alchemy, The only reviews that have been awful so far, I think are IGN and Gamespot, both of which are posted in here. Play gave it a 9/10, and a lot of the reader reviews I have read are about the 7-9 range. The reader average on IGN is at 6.9 as of me writing this. It irks me that the stock reacted so violently to a couple negative reviews, I have been waiting for other sites to come up with some but they may not until Monday at which time it could get better or worse. The controls are a bit frustrating at times but it is a really intense and fun game to play as long as it's given a chance.
Seeing as I have this game, the reviews paint it in such a poor light it is almost retarded. Using the SIXAXIS is a bit tough to learn but there is a learning curve to almost every game we play and this one is just a teensy bit harder than most. Let's face it you are flying a dragon. I have had none of the problems with gameplay that some of the poorest reviews have given it. It's a shame really because a lot of people take these to heart and will miss out on a spectacular game.
@Starless, it is really disappointing that such a promising title turned out to be so bad. I'm not a fanboy, the more great games out there for any system is just more fun for us to play, and better for the industry in general.
You shouldn't play Lair. Not unless you have some morbid interest in experiencing what is quite possibly one of the worst control schemes ever devised. It's a shame because as a cinematic experience, it's stunning to watch. As a game, it's a nightmare and an embarrassment. It sounds like a fantastic idea: You fly around on a dragon, spewing fire and clawing at other reptiles while generally wreaking havoc. Too bad you're forced to use Sixaxis controls that destroy the possibility of fun and replace it with the constant need to scream expletives at your television screen.
Bioshock shows how it can work in the other direction. This is bad news for the PS3 with this A rated game only managing average reviews, the good news though is that Heavenly Sword and Warhawk both as highly anticipated are both receiving favourable reviews.
I do not know what the PS3 has in the bag that can do a Bioshock for them but they do need something. Maybe Haze, or Killzone can do something special.
