Why the sudden rise? The Gemini Edition bundle is limited edition so probably only 100,000-200,000 were made and this game has still only sold 380,818 copies with sales down to a trickle, they were only 3,617 last week. The bundle might bring that to 500,000 copies, and so even then this is overvalued, I doubt that America and PAL will have sales of a Final Fantasy game twice that of Japan. This should be at 140DKP
Does anyone else have an opinion on this stock, its been flat for awhile. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates sales numbers, look at the launch sales, very drastic drop off by week 3, current this has sold around 380,000 copies (38DKP).
Time for an update. This stock is overvalued and should be at around 135DKP. This game does not look like it will have a long tail, it is down to selling 10,731 (after 6 weeks of release) with a total of 360,334 copies sold (looking at past Media Create and vgchartz numbers, they seem to copy Media Create's numbers or be close to them). It will probably top out at around 400,000-450,000 copies sold in Japan. This game has sold nearly 127,000 less copies than FFXII: RW in the same amount of time, why then is it billed to sell more copies in its lifetime? It should be at least at FFXII: RW's stock price of 139.80DKP.
If this game, as judge khan showed, sold less at launch then FFXII: RW, it should be at least at 139.45DKP like we are predicting for that game, but probably less, since in its first two weeks it has sold less than FFXII: RW did in its first 4 days (271,829 for FFCC:RoF vs 274,004 for FFXII: RW). This should be in the 130-140DKP range.
So the numbers are in. In 4 days, the game sold 177,845 in Japan according to Media Create.
By comparison, FFXII:RW sold 274,004 in its first 4 days. This game sold almost 100,000 less than FFXII:RW. It's very disappointing opening (and it's not even number one this week).
Unless sales improve in the next couple of weeks, I can only see a weak reception in Japan, might even sell less than FFXII:RW.
I'd just like to point out FFIII was a re-release of a game, most Japanese consumers beat back when they were 10 years old. This is a new title, and I expect Japanese sales to make up the bulk of sales on this fresh FF title.
That said, can it sell 3 million? Only time will tell.
- The highest selling FF title on DS so far is Final Fantasy III, which will probably end up at ~1.9 million sold (estimating for Europe) - The highest selling FF title on GBA was FFT:Advance which sold ~1.6 million. - Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the Gamecube sold around 1.1 million.
Given these 3 numbers, this stock is considerably overvalued. I'd place its fair value around 140-180DKP.
On August 23, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates Gemini Edition goes on sale. It packages a special Nintendo DS Lite with the stained glass artwork from the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates box and the game for 21,840 yen ($176).
