Big thanks from Capcom for all the support fans have given them over the release of Okami for Wii.
To celebrate the imminent launch of Okami on Wii, Capcom wanted to find a special way to thank the Okami fans who encouraged the publisher to give the highly praised game a second chance.
When Okami originally came out on the PS2, gamers and critics alike were impressed with its original visual style and story design. Now, two years later, the game debuts on the Wii and manages to not only recapture the magic and charm of the original but it surpasses it in many ways.
@lstormy10, This is a good read about the upcoming Wii version of Okami. It also includes some interesting information such as the sales numbers of the PS2 version of Okami that I posted below. A Capcom vice-president also notes "that [the] 270,000 figure is a very organic figure. Okami's day-one figure was nowhere near that."
"One of 2006's best games is re-designed and enhanced for Wii. We dissect the process and explore the possibilities." (This article includes direct statements from Capcom as well.)
"Since its release in September of 2006, the game [Okami] has amassed about 270,000 in sales -- certainly no retail bomb, but hardly the success story that such a product might have enjoyed."
@Just_Ben, That is what I suggested, but KultofCows said that it would be rolled back and a new March future would take its place. KultofCows addressed the situation that you describe below also.
