Ubisoft will cease including paper instruction manuals inside its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 boxed games, starting with this holiday's Shaun White Skateboarding (as revealed in an announcement that quietly confirms the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Shaun White Skateboarding). In place of a paper manual, a digital manual will be provided and accessible in-game.

Ubisoft has announced the expansion of its development teams with the opening of its first production studio in South America. The studio will open its doors in late July with a team of 20 developers and a goal of growing to 200 team members in four years. With the opening of Ubisoft Sao Paulo, the company now has development studios on five continents.

Ubisoft has filed a lawsuit against the company it hired to reproduce discs for the PC edition of Assassin's Creed, for no less then USD 10 million on counts of breach of contract and negligence, plus fees, and for an undisclosed sum on a count of copyright infringement.

Ubisoft has said that it plans to up its acquisition strategy and increase development of owned intellectual properties to combat the threat posed by the formation of Activision Blizzard. Alain Corre, executive director at Ubisoft, has told GamesIndustry.biz that it plans to ramp up its two key priorities in order to catch up with the newly-merged super publisher over the next two years.

Ubisoft Opens New Development Studio in Kiev

Ubisoft announced today that it has opened a new game development studio in Kiev, Ukraine. The studio, which already worked on the PC version of Blazing Angels: Secret Missions of WWII, plans to have 50 people in the office within the next 12 months.
