Im fairly sure it was about this time last year, definetly within a couple of weeks, although i didnt really start playing often and tracking stocks until well into the new year, i just had a few gambles when i started as i didnt know much about the sales number side of the industry.
@vGInfidel, Congratulation on your success in predicting this stock's worth. 27K stocks is definitely big investment. I only have 1 stock (Diablo 3 PC GLS) that match the size of your investment in this stock.
BTW, congratulation on reaching Top 10.
When did you join simEx ? I think it is sometime before my registration, since your id# is smaller than mine, but bigger than Just_Ben. I think you joined somewhere between early September 07 (after Just_Ben) and early November 07 (before me). I didn't remember when exactly I joined simEx, but remember that I was dormant/inactive for a certain period since registering, and only became active around Dec 4 2007.
Certainly this drop gave me a big chunk of my profit yesterday, i now have about 27,300 short on this stock, a few thousand of that came yesterday when i saw this news but most was sold at well over the 220 price point. However some of the profit was from a drop on some other stocks that i have smaller investments in and i took up a few small positions yesterday such as Mirrors Edge on PS3 and 360.
I think the stock should be in the 1-1.2million range. Probably towards the bottom end of that to be honest.
@vGInfidel, Is this stock the cause of your significant profit yesterday ? What price do you think this stock should be at ?
I don't have plan to invest in this stock, since I am focusing on other stocks at the moment, and I only have limited amount of DKP.
BTW, I noticed that Zukaus also enjoyed some profit yesteday, which could be caused by this stock. OTOH, I noticed that rikitikitik didn't get big profit yesterday, even though he should have significantly big short on this stock. Maybe he has cashed out some of his stocks before this?
Definetly not a good sign, i wouldnt be suprised to see the servers shut down soon. As i repeatedly said, this game had no legs and its now showing. In my opinion its still overvalued.
TenTonHammer has confirmed layoffs at developer Funcom's US branch. Although the company would only acknowledge "staffing cuts," TTH reported rumors that 70% of the staff, mostly from the customer service and quality assurance departments, were let go.
Although it's certainly no secret that Age of Conan is hurting at this point, the QA and CS departments are the two bookends of support on many MMORPGs. When there's no need for them, it speaks volumes about what happens next.
Age of Conan got a major content update on November 12. The new area called Ymirs Pass is targeted at mid- to late lvl 50s. The update also includes a new arena that resembles an indoor circus maximus with big bosses to fight. The link attached brings you to a page with an interview with one of the designers of Ymirs Pass, and a letter from the Game Director about the future updates of AoC.
Game Director Craig 'Silirrion' Morrison wanted to give another preview on the upcoming update and here is what he had to share:
The next game update is now progressing very nicely on the test server and we hope to have it ready for the live servers over the next couple of weeks. As anyone who has read the test server update notes or visited the test server will be aware the amount of changes and new content coming with this update is substantial...
I wouldn't count on Asian sales. Only one western developed MMORPG has a large number of users, World of Warcraft. Everything else they play is largely Korean and Chinese developed.
