Last we spoke with High Voltage's Eric Nofsinger, he noted that after a long decision process, the company had finally decided on a publisher -- one to be revealed soon.
Sooner than we thought, perhaps. SEGA recently posted a 'The Conduit' folder to its public FTP site, indicating that the giant publisher could be the one set to back the Wii title.
An official announcement is expected before the end of the week. Stay tuned.
My proverbial socks were knocked off when I saw how much they’d done with the graphics in that short amount of time. Less than two builds later, The Conduit looks worlds better. All of the graphics have been smoothed over.
The Conduit looks fantastic. High Voltage are pushing the limits of the Wii so much, we half expected to see smoke rising from the console. It’s a pretty huge leap from, say, Red Steel.
Never-before-shown stage -- the third level of the game. This game kiosk continually drew the biggest crowds, bigger than MadWorld and COD:WaW. COD:WaW looks surprisingly good, but it is no match for the crisp visuals and effects-drenched presentation of The Conduit.
High Voltage chief operating officer Eric Nofsinger told MTV Multiplayer that The Conduit, due out March 2009, will support MotionPlus and WiiSpeak, and alludes to an already-planned sequel that will make greater use of those capabilities. More after the jump.
The lead designer Eric Nofsinger gave KonsoliFIN an interview, and the readers had a nice opportunity to ask few questions from Eric, too.
Q: How is the online play implemented in the game?
A: We have 16 player online, with the standard modes - Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag. We also hope to offer online LAN multiplayer.
Wii Sports Resort might not be the only title to showcase the Wii MotionPlus when the dinky add-on launches next spring. GameSpot went hands-on with The Conduit at PAX 2008, and revealed that the shooter will feature MotionPlus support. The Conduit is currently set for a March launch.
Does this mean Nintendo have a possibility to became the publisher ? Or is it only because this game is Wii exclusive, that Nintendo are willing to feature this game on their booth (and also draw hardcore gamers to Wii booth) ?
High Voltage Software (HVS) has announced that The Conduit, a fast paced action-shooter game currently in development for the Wii console, will be featured by Nintendo at this year's PAX convention. Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at HVS, said , "PAX is jam-packed wall-to-wall with passionate game fans. We are incredibly honored to be featured there at Nintendo's booth. It's a fantastic opportunity for us to receive input and feedback directly from other gamers."
