@apujanata, There is no danger in this title getting a publisher (for reasons I previously stated).
In fact, the development is moving along quite well and will show at E3. IGN posted the first gameplay video earlier this week - making it a much more different beast than Sadness. I suspect from what I know and have seen in the media that if development is far enough along (which it is far enough to have a good looking gameplay video already), then we will hear an announcement at E3 about the publisher that was chosen by High Voltage.
I personally guarantee that this title will have a publisher (and most likely it will be announced... soon).
Well we are betting on GLS and part of the bet could be if there will be a good or bad publisher with all the consequences. Of course this things is more risky before we know the publisher.
On the other hand: SE is here to predict sales, no matter what. Off course there are hard prediction (with many unknowns) and more easy predictions (Well of course Madden will sell, it sells year after year after year. So there is not a 100% margin possible, everybody knows it. If you are good you may are able to get 20% on madden).
@Just_Ben, I agree with you and lstormy10, that this game has almost zero possibility of not getting publisher, and not getting released. In fact, I believe that this game will be release BEFORE Sadness. I still don't know what to do about Sadness stock. In one hand, shorting them means going against Zukaus, and it is suicide going against him. On the other hand, that game still didn't get publisher, which means its current GLS is probably too high.
Just_Ben, remember that our style is different. You like living dangerously (future), while I prefer safe bet. Even if this stock get listed, I "probably" (not sure yet) not going to invest significantly in this stock BEFORE this game get a formal publisher. The reason is simple : If this stock get rolled back, all profit (and loss) that we enjoyed from this stock will go "poof", which mean that if I had made 1 Million profit on this stock, I will that "1 Million Profit" disappear, and my networth will go down (I assumed I will get profit when I invest in a stock).
@apujanata, You could think so, the fact that there is no publisher yet (so he is unkown) is something that adds more fun to the mix here. No I still want this thing listed, A.S.A.P.
@apujanata, I wouldn't worry about High Voltage getting a publisher for the game. They have already made it publicly known that they have a large number (10 at last known point) of options for publishers already on the table. They are taking their time in looking at the different options to ensure that they pick the best partner. In addition, they have also publicly stated that they do not want a publisher just yet even if they had settled their decision on one of their options because they do not want a publisher coming in and "monkeying" (quote of High Voltage) things up. One last tidbit I would like to add is that they have reported that they have enough funding already to completely finish development on the game without the help of a publisher.
I see absolutely no risk in listing this title for trading sooner rather than later.
@Just_Ben, I agree that this game is very interesting as a stock for trading. I predict this stock will have good volume of trading. In fact, I have bid up the pending game.
However, AFAIK, this game still doesn't have publisher (even though I am sure that publisher will want to publish this game, since this game is in much higher / better development stage compared to sadness).
Therefore, I would suggest that trading of this stock wait UNTIL High Voltage got a publisher for this game.
We wouldn't want to have another case of Sadness (no publisher) or even Project hammer (have publisher, but cancelled), right ?
I hope this game gets listed as one of the next GLS!
Currently it is one of the most hyped (hard)core games on the Wii. Off course Nintendo will most likely reveal good games on E3 but this one seem to be the best 3rd party effort so far.
"Chatting to That Videogame Blog, Nossinger revealed that The Conduit has "enough story [...] and enough ideas" to justify making further The Conduit games, though admitted that sales would influence whether such follow-ups were developed. "We're building a brand with The Conduit," added colleague, Matt Corso (remember our interview with him?), dollar signs spinning in his eyes. Let's not forget to keep our eyes firmly on the first one, eh, chaps?"
@mrahaju, You may want to change the title of this article submission to something better describing such as game brochure or digital preview. High Voltage has meant this to be a kind of preview for gamers that shows off artwork and story as well as a preview for potential publishers. It has nothing to do with the actual manual for the game.
