Microsoft will be releasing a Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 bundle, which comes with a Elite console, a standard copy of Halo 3 and Halo 3:ODST, and access to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta.
Not to get your hopes up, but so far, this is only being released in PAL territories. A retailer listing (spotted by Joystiq) says the bundle is coming October 5.
This is one hell of an impressive TV ad definately in keeping with some of the classic ads made for Halo 3. This ad is a double whammy not only does it do a damn good job making you want to buy ODST it also uses the Halo brand to great effect to push the message of the $100 off against the Elite. Good job Microsoft.
Some have said this should include ingame footage but if they had done that it would of been just another game advert. The live action elevates it and makes us wish they got those Halo movies finished.
One of the lucky people who have had the privilege of getting Halo 3: ODST early has made a couple of videos showing the off the campaign so if you want to see press play on the videos below and enjoy, or if you want to save the glory for when its officially released worldwide resist your temptation and leave now.
Bungie has confirmed that ODST will run at the same 1152x640 resolution as Halo 3, the game it's based on.
Speaking to 360 Gamer Magazine at a press event for the game on Monday, Bungie senior designer Lars Bakken said that while ODST does look prettier than Halo 3 did, the game engine itself has hardly changed since Halo 3.
Halo 3 ODST may be a spin-off, but Microsoft wagers that enough content will be packed into the game's box to warrant a $59.99 price tag.
Bungie Studios has suggested that Halo 3 ODST won't be as long as Halo 3. So why will it run the cost of a full game?
Here's a list of the included content according to information released by Microsoft to the press today:
The full game will arrive at retailers worldwide on September 22, with Bungie promising that it will sport a new cooperative mode entitled Firefight.
In addition, those that buy ODST will be provided with multiplayer beta access to Bungie's just-revealed 2010-due Halo entry, Halo: Reach (X360).
