Really? You felt the need to post up a SIXTH review of Spore?
Myself and apujanata have tried to give you advice and yet you do not listen and still post articles this pointless. Why anyone upbid this is beyond me.
Spore, the highly anticipated game, is getting slammed all over the internet for many issues, will it get fixed?
Because of this, the creators of Spore have issued the following statement hinting at an updated DRM system, one that will not force you to constantly authenticate your game:
Spore is certainly an interesting experience overall, the first time through. It presents a very wide range of gameplay types, unique features in the form of the Sporepedia and Sporecasts, and a final phase that is diverse in its challenges and wide in its scope. Unfortunately, the game has something of a clinical feel; the fun factor might not be there for a large audience.
Yet while Spore is an amazing product, it's just not quite an amazing game. I can't help but feel that Spore is ambitious and memorable, but I also admit that, save for the cool Space Stage, there's not a lot of depth here. Rookie gamers are going to feel at home here, but veteran gamers may feel like they need more. Still, Spore proves to be one of the most unique products in recent memory, one that reaches for the stars and ends up giving us a universe in a box.
"And for all their mighty purpose, the first four phases of the game don't always play brilliantly, and they're too fleeting. The Creature Creator doesn't let you make exactly the creature you want because your survival depends on parts that spoil the look. But the final game is proof that it was all worth it: you're all one big Designer."
@Heloise10, The hands on posted yesterday was iffy, then a pretty decent review today. I don't have a good read on where this will land.
There's a chance the crowd that will be interested in this game doesn't generally read many reviews, so it's the opinion of the Walmart/Target/Best Buy/Gamespot employee that will ultimately make the deal.
@Heloise10,I believe those are great reviews for such an ambitious and innovative concept. I don't believe it's enough to convince 7M buyer (not pirates - buyers ...).
The Good
Intuitive and comprehensive customization tools Oozes charm at every turn Impressively broad scope Great audio and art design.
The Bad
Individual gameplay elements are extremely simple Early stages aren't very engaging.
Lazard Capital Markets senior VP, Colin Sebastian, has stated his belief that September will be an important month for Electronic Arts, as it releases two key long-awaited titles - Spore, which he expects to sell 2 million units in the US, and Warhammer Online, which he's anticipated around 650,000 sign-ups for in that territory.
