@justcrim, I have to admit that I didn't think the developers would go back and add this in, but I definitely think the title will see some more sales because of the combination of this and it being available for pretty cheap.
I think that this analog thing could really add some much needed sales in Japan and in the US for this game. Since that was the main complaint, without that many people might actually reconsider buying it. I actually expect this to have an impact to do a similar thing like pyschonauts rebounding after a huge flop.
Japan will be the first to receive the update on the 17th, the rest of the world should expect it soon after. The update will be free, and will come with the new Dual Shock 3 support and the ability to show a targeting icon.
Sony also announced new themes and dragons all for free. Anything to get just a few more people to check out a game that 6 AXIS ruined.
Bumping -THE-RAY-'s 27 DKP target. There hasn't really been any arguments against this substantially lower target (GLS is currently trading north of 58 DKP).
Doug Allen from the IGN Blogs has reportedly gotten his hands on the analog controls for Factor 5's much-maligned PlayStation 3 game Lair, and claims they are the bomb - quite possibly the bomb diggity.
@lstormy10, Let me add that if they decided to release it via DLC and do a larger release through retail means in bundling it with a special edition of the game with a tiny bit extra content or a lower price, then it could be worth the studio's effort.
@Joe80, I don't see releasing a new control scheme via DLC as very likely at this point in time unless it is a relatively easy process. This is because of it being so late after the release already and the fact that they have larger projects to be working on now.
