@Gaara42, Whoa, so i noticed you were bearish on this stock last night Gaara42....so i shorted it at 146...i wake up this morning and Bam! :p Nice find! ;)
This game has suffered from to much bad publicity for it to reach the current levels we predict for it. The two friends of mine who picked this game up were very disappointed, by the load times, the lack of guidance to the next quest and the high amount of glitches in the game. They strongly advised me not to get it or wait for the next Hellgate game to come out (if one does). I think that many Asian players will be doing the same after seeing their characters wiped and not recommend that their friends buy the game (they may not buy the game due to the fear that their time investment will be wiped at some later date by another patch). This game may have sold well initially, but this runt of bad news has destroyed any long tail it might have had. Due to this I this a price of 100DKP or below seems more accurate at the moment.
Now, if only you could straighten up the rest of your act, you might be more than a partner in whatever dysfunctional need you meet for those unfortunate players willing to put up with you. You might be an actual good game. But for now, get help. Patches, add-ons, reboots...whatever. If that happens, give me a call.
"The already rocky launch of Hellgate: London in Asia has gotten even rockier. After several weeks of server crashing issues, a patch known as Patch0 was created to help solve the problem. After numerous attempts to apply the patch to the servers it was discovered that the only way to make it work would be to perform a complete character wipe."
...many subscribers to Flagship Studios' optional Hellgate: London membership program are reporting massive problems with the system, including mistaken credit charges and unavailable access to promised content.
"It's easy to write Hellgate off as a mediocre game, but the truth is it's not altogether bad. In fact, it has some truly excellent innovations, like the item augmentation system that can imbue common items with special properties. Hellgate also has a machine that increases the level of an item, so players don't have to ditch useful armor or weapons because they outgrew them. The problem is, the game tries to be a little bit of everything, but no one aspect gets fully developed."
@feelmyring, Thats been the "wisdom" of those arguing for this game all along, that it would be a surprise hit. I really doubt that it will take off, now that people actually have the game most of them are just not impressed by it.
I played the demo and found the game very samey. Not the full game I admit but a demo should be like a theatrical trailer and make me want to buy and this one did not, so I am not suprised by the score.
Is anyone playing this game? I'm playing it and absolutely loving it. I think once word gets out that the game is fun to play, and they work out initial online kinks, this will be a monster of a game.
