Pretty much everything we've seen so far of Metal Gear Solid 4 has shown a desert locale. Desert streets, desert buildings, desert sand... At least part of the game's set in the Middle East. But not all of it. Turns out you'll also be heading to South America for a stretch, and maybe Eastern Europe as well.

"Hideo Kojima revealed today at Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4-only press conference the "Beauty and the Beast" story theme for Kojima Productions' next. The game will feature a number of characters and bosses based on real-life actresses and models, all of whom were motion captured by Kojima Productions to lend an extra dose of reality to their virtual characters, a first for the series." Fancy a trip to Tokyo with five of your friends? Konami has announced that a European Metal Gear Online Tournament will begin very shortly which will allow you to win exactly that. Check out the official website and sign up today and you'll take part in one of the preliminary tournaments over the next few weeks. These will be straight Team Deathmatch games, with the best two teams being flown to Tokyo for the world final during the Tokyo Game Show.

We contacted Ryan Payton at Kojima Productions, who was handling the MGS4 demo behind closed doors at the Tokyo Game Show, about the possibility of the demo being released. While he said the team would be interested in considering the release of a Metal Gear Solid Demo, there are no plans to release the TGS demo over the PSN at this time, or potentially ever.
