"The retailer has targeted June 17 of 2008 as the game's ship date, near the end of the second quarter release Konami and Kojima Productions promised us on Halloween. While Gamestop has been known to apply impossible release dates to products without a definitive date and Konami itself hasn't officially announced such a specific timeframe, this one is looking largely legit."

It was revealed last month that a Blu-ray disc wasn’t big enough to hold all languages for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4. Since all previous Playstation 3 games have resorted to the more constricted 25GB Disc, it was unclear whether MGS4 was to stray from this trend. In a Konami retailers meeting yesterday, it was exposed that the game would be produced on a 50GB Blu-ray disc.

01 January 2008 -- XboxFamily.com claims that a Konami distribution representative said that Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the Xbox 360. Speaking at a distribution meeting, the Konami rep allegedly informed XboxFamily.com that MGS4 had been in development for the Xbox 360 since early 2007 and will be released for the 360 between 12 to 14 months after the PS3 version hits shelves.

With Metal Gear Solid 4 confirmed at half a million sales in Japan and one million in Europe, the big question is, just how many copies has the game sold overall. While we don't have sales figures just yet, we do know the game's shipped number: three million.

Konami has confirmed earlier reports that Metal Gear Solid 4 will indeed come packaged with the multiplayer spin-off title, Metal Gear Online, but it will only be a starter pack.
