According to a Tokyo Game Show report from Japanese investment research firm Morningstar, Metal Gear Solid 4 may find its way to the Xbox 360 after all. Morningstar published a general article covering multiplatform trends that features a quote from a Konami public relations representative that should fuel rumors for months to come. The rep is quoted as saying, regarding MGS4, "We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360."

MGS4 is not the game it could have been; nor is it the game it would have been had the series grown with the benefit of hindsight; nor is it the game it should have been if you believed that early trailer. But it is faithful to its fans, its premise and its heart, delivering an experience that is, in so many ways, without equal. In years to come, as people stand before the grave marked ‘Tactical Espionage Action’, they’ll feel little choice but to salute.

I normally shy away from review scores but the internet is reporting that MGS4 got a 10/10 in the UK edition of Official Playstation Magazine. Whilst I'll take an official magazine's score with a grain of salt it would at least indicate to me that the reviews will be solid, if not better.

The web version of Mainichi Shimbun newspaper reports today that Sony plans on shipping between 80,000 and 100,000 units of the recently announced MGS4 PS3 bundle. Sony refers to this as a limited edition bundle, so we presume they intend to sell out of it quickly.

Games Radar writes, "It’s been the rallying cry of Sony fanboys from the beginning. Things might be bad right now, but you just wait until Metal Gear Solid 4. Then we’ll see the PlayStation 3 rise up to conquer, just like the PS2 did, and you’ll all be sorry for doubting it."

Konami has announced that the Metal Gear online Open Beta will commence on April 21 and run until May 6. The Beta will be available to download from the PlayStation Store from April 17. Players will have access to two maps, Blood Bath and Groznyi Grad, each requiring cooperative team-based play.
