About being burned, what GLS has you been burned, even AFTER the game was released ? I haven't been burned significantly yet playing short, since my Top 3 Short (GoW3, Diablo 3 and Halo Wars) was not released yet.
@Just_Ben,I think we always see the same pattern. Big brands are overevaluated until 1 month before release (God of War, Gears of War, Fallout, Fable) because of some 'fanboyism' (not trying to be offensive, I'm sometimes a fan boy myself) - and then 'big' players start to short to more realistic levels (and become even BIGGER :). I think we will see this happen again here.
No lets assume all those buy gears, and a higher install base, and you are near that figure. I don't say thats right (hell I am short) but that is what people think.
During the X08 event in Toronto last night, Joystiq was able to sit down with Epic Games lead designer Cliff Bleszinski and talk chop about Gears of War 2. Cliff discusses the pacing and intensity of Horde Mode, the trouble with too many players in co-op and his quick impressions on Too Human.
