Does anyone think this title will now sell more than previously predicted due to it being the only major core game coming from Nintendo this year? Correct me if there is any other major core game coming from Nintendo themselves.
The city is a brand-new place to explore in the Wii version of Animal Crossing. You can put items up for sale. City is a more 3D environment. An academy to keep tabs on other player There is an academy, fashion designers, stores, beauty salon. You can put on a mask to look like your Mii
Anyone else get the feeling that, one way or the other, this is going to be a hot stock come E3?
Pay-to-play, DLC and the 2008 Japan release date all point to this being one of Nintendo's big reveals... Of course, maybe those are false signs and the stock will drop around E3, but either way there will be DKP to be made...
@feelmyring, Correct, current Nintendo marketing is targeted towards the system and the game will supplement that. I was just remembering the GC Animal Crossing marketing with the whole 'real-life' scenario. I think that team can make an equally great commercial marketing angle with Wii-24 which should be used with the game and the Nintendo system.
@trihunter, Looking at VGChartz (apparently not a good site, but the only one I know to look at), between GC and DS, Animal Crossing games have sold 10 million units. There can't be 100% overlap between the 7.5 mil on DS and the 2.5 on GC, but still, that's 5 million people that bought AN Animal Crossing game. I don't think it's inconceivable for their marketing to hit a couple million new people. I think this should be at least at 650, probably closer to 7 million, before any stats come out. Once futures start trading, we'll have a much better idea of what's going on with it.
trihunter, on kind of a related note, I think most of the marketing for Wii games is built into the system, not so much in the games themselves. I was talking to a friend of mine last night (who's by no means a video game guy, yet I bought him and his fiancee a Wii for a wedding present, at their request), and he mentioned to me that the reason he wanted a Wii was to feel like he was 8 and playing NES again. I think that games that demonstrate that they can recapture that feeling for gamers my age (mid 20's), will do phenomenally, and I think Animal Crossing is one of those games. I'm playing the DS version now, and loving it, for the reason my friend mentioned.
@Hmmsphil, I think a lot of people here think 5.7 million units is too low. I can speak for myself and believe this game will sell near eight million. This game will appeal to all who buy the Nintendo Wii. The game has had good marketing in the past, and I expect equal marketing in the future. A game with near-universal appeal in near-all markets that sell video games makes me think 6 million is too low.
Looks like people were selling off yesterday to reap the profits they earnt the day before. However, I feel this stock is still very undervalued. You should check the past few pages for more in depth look at why.
Basically, the DS Animal Crossing game has sold around 7.5 Million copies world-wide and is still selling something like 10K per week in Japan this week, nearly two years after its release! It'll go on to sell something like 10 Million. When the DS version came out, it wasn't very well known in Japan and Europe (the GameCube AC game didn't do too well in these areas), but now it's one of Nintendo's highest selling franchises.
Once again, you should look back a few pages for a more in depth analysis. (page eight and seven are the best to look at) I highly suggest buying this stock. In my opinion, this game will sell 8M-10M in total, maybe more depending on how good the game turns out to be. We should get a look at this game at E3, which is held later on this month.
