Pokemon Ranch is now available from the Wii Shop. The game allows Mii characters to interact with Pokemon in a farm-type setting. Also, owners of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl can store up to 1000 Pokemon in the game, fulfilling the same role as Pokemon Box did for the GBA/Gamecube generation.
@Powertrade, I would not cap it off at 16 million. A title for this generation of Pokemon RPG is probably coming soon and usually reinvigorates interest in the other titles of the same generation. I would say 17 million at the highest would be a better cap.
According to Nintendo's Fiscal Year report supplement Pokemon Diamond/Pearl has sold 14.77 million copies through March 08. The stock should come down to about 16 million at the highest.
@pilias_simber, it appears this and many big name stocks are finally in for a correction. Interesting that this title has actually sold 12.1 million already. We are currently pricing the game at 16 million, which means we expect the game to only be 75% through its sales potential. This could be possible.
In the future, look at the beginning of the article. For example, in this one, the date is listed "Oct 5, 2006" right under the writer's name and before the text of the article.
Also, this game has been out for over a year, so that's another hint that we wouldn't be talking about "debut" sales. You should also check other articles under a game listing to make sure you aren't submitting something that's already posted...doing so would have shown you that articles already exist showing that sales are over 10 million worlwide, over 5 million in Japan alone.
