Q : There's been a lot written about Grand Theft Auto IV, yet Wii Fit knocked it off top spot on the GfK charts. A : Yeah, two weeks in a row..... Q : Do you think it's actually a bigger game in terms of the mainstream than GTA? A: Long term, it will absolutely be bigger. I'm quite open to say that.

Wii Fit is expected to be one of the year's biggest sellers both in Japan and abroad. North Americans can expect to see the game on May 20th... by which time presumably they'll have that 'plus-sized' Western balance board properly stress tested and ready for use.

Wii Fit's Gray Market Shaping Up

kotaku - December 6, 2007

"No surprises here. A new piece of hardware is released right before Christmas, and scalpers put it up on Yahoo! Auctions. In its first two days on sale, Wii Fit sold TK units. Impressive! Retailers don't know when the next shipment will be arriving. However, there are already plenty of Wii Fit sets available via online auctions."

"Wii Balance Board is powered by 4 AA batteries...Wii Fit offers roughly 40 different activities designed to give everyone in your family a core workout, ranging from relaxing yoga routines to decidedly "gamey" events such as ski jumping or heading in soccer balls...although balancing doesn't seem that intrinsically enthralling, it's actually kind of enjoyable...some of the more serious exercises aren't particularly fun"

Njoy Wii Fit Balance Board

IGN - August 1, 2008

Submitted by lstormy10 (294) at 5:45PM PST on August 1, 2008

"Popular accessory manufacturers Njoy are gearing up to make their stake in Wii Fit with the September debut of their own Wii Fit balance board. The board, currently titled G-Board Balance Board, is near identical to Nintendo's first party product with a few exceptions. Perhaps the most pertinent deviation from the original Wii Fit balance board is the G-Board's MSRP, a relatively high $130."
