Is there a justification for the low stock price for the February future? It has most of the month to sell and was released when a new color for the DS lite was released as well, which I would assume boost sales as all the stores I have visited locally have signs for this game up, from the Walmarts to the Gamestops. Only 100k for this game during the month of February seems rather low, especially since this game will appeal to both the casual player and the more active gamer (going to find an alternate to 'hardcore', don't care for that terminology). Any more thoughts on this one?
@apujanata, Now, it return back to #9 (from #11) in the overall bestseller list, and still #1 in the DS bestseller list. One week after the release of this game, it managed to maintain #1 position in the DS bestseller list, and moving around in the Top 10 of overall bestseller list. I believe this is a possible sleeper hit game of February 2008
This is great! I just got Professor Layton for my wife for Valentine's Day, and while I find the puzzles entertaining, I couldn't help but wonder why the villagers are so sadistic! Perhaps that is the greatest mystery to solve...
Gamespot gives it a 9/10. The Good - Well over 120 puzzles, with more available weekly via a free download - Seamlessly blends puzzle-solving, adventuring, and an entertaining story - Attractive visuals with impressive-looking FMV sequences - Puzzles are challenging but fair - No time limits and a generous hint system keep the game from being frustrating. The Bad - Music is repetitive and annoying.
GameTap caught up with Level 5 founder Akihiro Hino to take measure of his expectations for the U.S. release of the first in his Professor Layton trilogy.;;;Entering the market as a new publisher, I thought this was a chance to present a new type of game to the industry. ;;;for Pandora's Box [the second Layton title], we designed most of the puzzles to go along with the storyline
And with a game this entertaining, that transcends demographics so stylishly, that offers such addictive just-one-more challenge -- well, the only real puzzle here is why anyone wouldn't want to give it a go.
