You might recall I used to. But apparently two lines are drawn on this forum and I do not know my place, nor have I been able to find it.
It is my reason for no longer actively trading. So now, when I'm bored by job analyzing stuff I don't care about, I protest by trolling. Forgive me for taking the same low-road that makes Zero-punctuation so popular.
Lowest common denominator analysis (with veiled insults) begs lowest common denominator analysis (with not so veiled, and entirely more clever insults). It just so happens my vocabulary is wider and I'm not afraid to use it.
To answer your question, all of the data was cited 2nd hand from the NYTimes article posted yesterday. This in turn was gathered from NPD data and vgchartz, which is apparently good enough for the respected times. (But not the sim exchange!)
You know the real blemish to the exchange is the attitude of people like Laoldar. Now he complains even louder because he made his bed and doesn't like it.
@Laoldar, The word choice is not needed and the attitude toward other players is a blemish to the exchange. Please refrain from blatantly insulting other players you do not agree with.
@zeromous, You provide good data and analysis, why sour the post with rants and insults toward other players? Also, could you provide links to where you are pulling the data from? Thanks.
You mean a humourous reviewer who hates fighting games and doesn't like multi-player playing didn't like a primarily multi-player fighting game? Shocking.
I didn't accuse you of "talking up" this stock specifically, I simply find you don't agree with much of anything that you didn't say. You talk up all sorts of other stocks then disappear once you've been proven wrong.
Not only that, you fail math. 1.4 million / 7 days = 0.2 million copies per day 2.7 million - 1.4 million = 1.3 million 1.3 million / 21 days = 0.062 million copies per day
0.2 / 0.062 = 68% decline in sales averaged over 3 weeks. Since we know sales don't average out but actually decline linearly its a pretty good estimate from NYT that current sales are currently at a rate of 90% of whatever it sold during the first week. I'm pretty sure they just went with the weekly figures from this week, which you of course didn't mention.
You could just have a problem with reading. It's ok, not everyone can parse simple percentage based word problems. There's a lot of evidence from you're unable to process semantically. Then again, Laoldar is well renowned for his top notch gaming coverage (and impeccable English) so I should cut him some slack. But not The Times!
How does one throw a tantrum on a forum? I haven't traded since I left as promised. It basically just opens me up to penii such as yourself. You're right about one thing though, I did come here to gloat. Why wouldn't I after so much effort was put in to twist my analysis in the past.
Naturally, you can't/won't 4even cite coherent figures because it doesn't suit your argument. And now the Times isn't a proper source? We all the know the definitive source for gaming information is The Sim Exchange. That is when Kids aren't lurking, reading my bad words in the forums searching for the latest NPD data for their collection. I suppose the only proper source around here is Laoldar or Just_ben (in case I'm looking for the 'proper' use of slang).
Hours of entertainment! This is more fun than formulating Redneck jokes!
Pretty much captures the idea that the only people who will appreciate SSBB are those who liked SSBM, or have no life.
NSF TSE,Laoldar, ben: Author correctly uses phrase circle-jerk to refer to SSBB.
I didn't "talk up" this stock, I simply didn't agree with some of the reasonin being used. What source is being used for the sales drop? VGChartz? Funny, NPD just said it moved 2.7 million copies that month, which doesn't look like a 90% drop from 1.4 million in the first week. Then again, the NYT is well renowed for its top notch gaming coverage, right?
In fact, Smash Bros has sold well over 4 million (easily over 5 by now) copies already. With several territories yet to receive the title, and years of strong sales to come, I don't see why you're trying to gloat.
Now why don't you go throw a tantrum and run off...again.
So why are retailers having so much trouble selling Wii games?
Take Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It was one the most hotly anticipated video games of the year; it sold more than 1.4 million copies during the first week of its release, in early March, and broke records for Nintendo of America.
Just a lot more correct than most of you are (and pretend to be). Glad to see this is still falling...Considering the abuse I took and dished to defend my position...
Having trouble moving "the 2nd coming" from store shelves huh?
Loaldar, you are the king of talking up stocks and mysteriously disappearing from the conversation when it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Just yet another example of you being completely wrong, yet boosting stocks with your false dichotomies and bullying.
