If you have never played Resident Evil 4 before, then get ready for something special.
For those that have played the game before (probably several times) then there is only one real question, is the control system any good? Well yes it is. There are head shots a-plenty now the aiming has been improved and the clumsy knife is far more accurate and easy to access.
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is a re-release of a three year old masterpiece with new and improved controls, a video of Umbrella Chronicles, some Wii remote speaker action and the extras from the PS2 version. That is not a criticism. It is the ultimate version of, what some perceive to be, the greatest action game ever made.
Score 9 out of 10
You people do realize that this week, this game dropped 10 places to #25 in the UK charts, looking to hit around just 120k in Japan, and dropped from the top ten completely in charts it appeared in for 1-2 weeks (German, Australia, Denmark?)?
1 million sales for this game is completely ridiculous.
That is the question. At 19.99 I think the Zapper is priced right, and I think it's being packaged with RE:Umbrella Chronicles.
If this is true I think it could very easily expand the sales of this game because it will familiarize a whole new group of people to the RE franchise, and provided RE:UC is a good game, will make them want to buy it.
I'm not sure if the current stock price for this is right or not, there are too many unknown factors right now, but I'd say the chances are good that it will hit 700k in it's lifetime.
@pilias_simber, ah! That's the type of analysis I was looking for. Capcom already had the pricing of the game factored into their 420k target so I don't think that's a major issue. I guess the question is how much of a premium you think the zapper puts on the forecast. Can the zapper increase sales by over 50%?
At the Nintendo Press Conference Reggie outlined just how many new gamers have been introduced to gaming for the first time with the Wii.
Many of these people have probably not played any of this game's previous editions and are picking it up for the first time on the Wii.
With the announcement of the Wii Zapper I think the sales of this game will rise even more when it launches because people will look for more games to use their Zapper on.
Also keep in mind that this game is being sold for 10-15 dollars less than any other game on the Wii by retailers, so the chances of it being picked up are greater.
There seems to be great demand for people to take home the Arcade Shooter experience and that is exactly what Nintendo is providing to people, so anything that can take advantage of that Wii Zapper will more than likely see a sales spike when the Zapper launches.
@argon, I'm not quite following, why is exceeding a 420k fiscal year target translating into a 700k forecast being undervalued? I dont think this game will be selling 200k+ copies after March 2008. Please explain.
At E3 Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe told Reuters they expect RE4 to exceed its target of 420,000 units for the current business year to March 2008, which makes this stock undervalued.
