@Laoldar, Yes we should wait until its announced to exist. I just stated in my last post: "I do think its being made, but I'm not going to state at this very moment that I think it exists."
And then I provided back up for why GoW2 may be released, trying to provide data to Jess because he asked for data.
Sorry I meant submitting games...listing games should ABSOLUTELY wait until there is an announcement. Even then it wouldn't save us from the HAMMER s of the world.
I don't see the problem with listing potential games as long as there is SOME indication that they are in the works...I've done so myself (please bid if you feel they will be coming out and have some postive longterm sales btw)
The fact that there are big titles like Crisis Core still not listed is a SE problem not a user problem. It has 63 bids and is already out in Japan...yet is ignored.
Shouldn't we wait to think about submitting/listing games until it's actually announced? While a Gears sequel is likely, it could be several years away and meanwhile there are tons of great games that are already announced (Crisis Core, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, FF4 DS, Force Unleashed, FF Versus 13, etc) that still aren't on the exchange. It seems silly to bid on a game that exists only in speculation (so far).
I don't doubt that Gears will get a sequel. However, there are a lot of announced games that will be released long before that happens.
@Jess__, I wouldn't be surprised to see this announced sometime in 2008 for a release in 2008 or 2009. I do think its being made, but I'm not going to state at this very moment that I think it exists. I think I read in EGM's DEC issue rumor section that GoW2 is releasing Holiday 2008.
Wikipedia gives this info, I did not check the citations though (I remember hearing about Gears being a trilogy back around the time it released):
"Gears of War lead designer Cliff Bleszinski said he hoped for the game to expand into graphic novels and eventually film.[48] On November 21, 2006, Microsoft Corporate VP of Global Marketing and Interactive Entertainment Business Jeff Bell stated Gears of War is the first in a trilogy, through sequences on E-Day and the battle of Jacinto Plateau, as well as information on Adam Fenix and his research (which the character finds in Gears).[49] Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein posted a message on the official Gears of War Internet forums, stating "It's not over until it is not fun anymore", and, in his view, Gears of War may become the next Halo series in terms of popularity.[50]
The ending to Gears of War heavily suggested a sequel is in the works, and at the 2007 Game Developers Conference, Bleszinkski confirmed that Epic Games does "intend to do a sequel" to Gears of War.[51]"
This is NOT a game. Why would you upbid this? Anyone who proves this should even be allowed in the unlisted games section, let alone receive 53 upbids will get the upbid of me as well as from many others I'm sure.
Unhappy campers gather around the campfire and hear about how there will be no announcement of a new Gears of War game at E3.
"We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year. Did you see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We're still working on the first one," said Epic's Mark Rein:
Which means we a) Have to hold out for the next update, or b) Wait to hear details on the Gears movie that is supposed to come out to get our Gears fix. Personally, I don't even need a sequel to the first because I'm so retarded I can't kill RAAM on casual. STOP TELLING ME TO SERVE THE QUEEN! I AM THE QUEEN!
